I regretted not capturing the momentous occasion on film. I had a beautiful moment that evening, watching Obama's speec, in a barber shop in Brooklyn that I ducked into because I saw it illuminated with a few other passersby inside, heads cocked and rapty watching the mounted TV set. Slowly the crowd grew as old, gay, black, striaght, white, young, lesbian, partiers, workers, etc., poured in from the streets. The barber shop was bursting with this motley crue, which clapped and cheered when he thanked Michelle, and laughed when he said the girls had earned their puppy, and cried when he spoke of the 106 year-old voter who'd lived to see this day. I'll never forget where I was for that speech. In a hair salon full of diverse neighborhood folk, united in their emotional stirrings over this incredible day.
